Our French dairy, Isigny Sainte-Mère, has a proud history, deeply rooted in the unique terroir of Normandy in the northwest corner of France. We are honoring our legacy with a progressive design refresh that expresses the heart and soul of our farmer-owned cooperative. We don’t just work with farmers, we are farmers. We tend our land, we craft our products, and as a cooperative, we share our successes.

At Isigny Sainte-Mère, dairy production is our history and our identity. For over 100 years, we have been passionately committed to artisanal methods of cheese-, cream-, and butter-making and to the traditions
of sustainable agriculture. Here, the freshest milk is transformed, within
a few hours and miles of the pasture, into food of complete integrity.

Nestled in the lush landscape of Normandy lies the hidden gem of Isigny-sur-Mer, where rich grass grows, and cows are given room to roam.

On our 380 farms, Normande cattle graze on unspoiled marshes and meadows, the fertile land enriched by a network of rivers and caressed by a temperate oceanic climate. The sea is but a kilometer away, the gentle breezes filling the air with salty ocean spray and enriching the pastureland with minerals and nutrients. All these elements of our terroir combine to create the wonderful flavor of our milk – long considered the ‘Grand Cru’ of the dairy world.

The iconic teal blue of our new packaging perfectly evokes elements of the lush terrain that make it our “fountain of butter and cream”: a perfect fusion of the deep blue of the ocean and the brilliant green of our pastures.

The enduring spirit of Isigny is embodied in our people.

Our cooperative is a mosaic of over a thousand individuals, each upholding our legacy with passion and dedication. Like the farmers who make up our cooperative, the iconic symbol on all our packaging, “Marthe,” was herself a very real person. The daughter of the cooperative’s managing director in the 1930s, Marthe is depicted proudly riding the donkey on which she would transport the “triolettes,” or milk churns, filled with the rewards of her milking labors.

When the cooperative first chose this image nearly 100 years ago, the farmers deliberately broke from the norm of representing a cow on dairy packaging. Our farmers knew then – as we know today – that Isigny Sainte-Mère was distinctive, both because of our terroir, and because of our people. Marthe’s presence on our packaging reflects our unwavering dedication to staying true to those roots. Marthe’s pride in her work is our enduring heritage, perfectly embodying the pride we feel every day.

Our milking methods may have evolved since the earliest days of the cooperative, yet the essence of our craft, and our commitment to freshness and quality, remains. That’s why, although our production scale remains human and timelessly local, our products find their way to the finest tables around the globe. In every product from Isigny Sainte-Mère, food lovers who insist on quality and understand the meaning of food with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status –  reserved for products from a particular terroir and embodying its traditional expertise – will find themselves transported to a place of natural bounty and authentic artisanry.

BEURRE D’ISIGNY AOP

All our butter is cultured, starting with the finest Normandy pasture-fed milk. Our time-honored methods produce a beautiful buttercup yellow appearance, an aroma of crème fraîche, and a soft, silky, mellow flavor with notes of hazelnut.

BRIE D’ISIGNY

Our brie has a rich, buttery suppleness wrapped in a delicate white rind. Its center is dense when young, evolving into a rich, creamy texture when fully ripe.


PONT-L’ÉVÊQUE

Soft-ripened cheese, traditionally crafted to give a delicately balanced complexity. Cut into its smooth, washed rind and experience the signature notes of malt, apple, and fresh dough.


CAMEMBERT D’ISIGNY

Crafted from the finest grass-fed milk, our Camembert evolves from a dense, firm center when young to a silky texture when fully ripe. Explore its earthy aroma and rich umami flavor.


MIMOLETTE

Our historic cave-aging technique produces a cheese that is tender with notes of dried fruit when young, evolving to a delicate nuttiness with hints of butterscotch as it matures.


BELLE SAISON

Produced in limited batches with pasture-grazed cow's milk from Normandy, France. Cave-aged on wood boards for a minimum of six months, this hard cheese has a deep earthy flavor with a naturally rustic rind.

CRÈME CHANTILLY

Made with the freshest cream and natural Madagascar vanilla. Fluffy in texture and slightly sweet


CRÈME FRAÎCHE

Our crème fraîche is cultured slowly, which allows it to develop exceptional flavors, smooth and tangy with a hint of nuttiness. This popular, versatile ingredient in French cooking also makes a delicious, decadent topping for dessert and fruit.
